I thought Kang Jo's brother seemed familiar. That actor was also in The Legend as the leader of the black team in polo. I kind of liked that guy. He died defending Damdeok outside the closed gates of that fort they were trying to get into (just before the Turtlesnake Staff woke up).

I didn't realize that Park Eun Bin, who played young Kiha in The Legend, is also young Hwangbo Seol in Iron Empress. I feel like I should have recognized her.

Rewatching the first episode just to remember some things. I really shouldn't take time out for that since I've got like 2,438 episodes left to go.

I'm loving this show. The atmosphere, the characters (most of them), the music (most of it), the story. I'm beginning to think I might try watching the whole story (which I've never done with a long sageuk).

Lately I seem to be in the mood for costume dramas in Chinese… and almost nothing else. I'll probably be watching Shut Up (slowly) and nothing else in Korean (unless I rewatch The Princess' Man like I'm tempted to, and I'm slowly rewatching The Legend). This show is killing me with its awesomeness. The last two episodes will probably just finish me off. I guess this means I have a weakness for the "doing something special for a dying person" sort of storyline, especially when it's a group of misfit musical theater students doing this for a fantastically cool teacher.

I'm something like halfway through Hong Gil Dong, and Chang-Hee keeps Yi Nok from seeing Gil Dong. That was a fun cliffhanger. I had a little trouble starting this one because of the tone in the first few episodes, but I'm enjoying in the story now. I'll probably watch this all the way to the ending even though I know xxxxxx happens....
